Hey everybody, I wanna ask if one of you had already seen something like this before:
I have a 2D game. In this game a can rotate my character in 8 different angles. For each of these angles, I have different sprites, obviously. Ok, there's no problem yet. The problem grows up when I was asked to make the character loose his head or his arm, for example.
What would be the best way to do this? An animation for each state will take too long to be produced. I'm thinking about making the character in 3D, using planes, and then I could just swith the animation of a specific layer.
For instance, I could just change the animation of the basic head by some head with injuries, something like that.
The problem with 3D would be the player rotation.
Someone has an idea or even a hint for me, so I can proceede with this project?
The game is very similar to this one, except that in my game, you can loose your arm, you leg, etc.
